As media continues to grow and develop and as governments continue to become more corrupt, our fear of losing our first amendment rights also increases. We’re afraid the government will take away our rights to voice our opinions.

Well, I have some good news for you. That hasn’t happened yet.

How do I know this? Because there is still controversy in the media. Media is an outlet for reasonable, rational discussion and debate.  Debate sparks controversy and controversy sparks debate. They work together. When we’re arguing different opinions and taking sides on issues that are being published (even if it’s through Twitter), we create controversy and exercising our first amendment rights.

We may not like controversy, but we do like our first amendment rights.
