I met Q a few weeks ago, and last week, while watching a church service take place in the park, he asked me if I was a Christian.
“Yes, I am.”
He was quiet for a while and then posed a question. I don’t remember the question, but what I do remember was when he told me that he used to have a lot of doubts and questions. He searched but couldn’t find answers and eventually, he just gave up.
Today, Q and I talked a long time about Christianity. He has a lot of difficult questions, and his lack of basic knowledge of history makes finding answers even harder. I can already tell you that he has more questions than I have answers.
And I’m thankful that Grace means that I don’t have to have all the answers for my friends. At some point, Christianity has to be become more about Grace in Christ than finding answers to difficult questions. I’m praying that having more questions than answers will soon become okay for Q, because Grace and Faith will take over.
