Our president’s approval rating is only at 41 percent, a 28 percent drop since January 2009 (one year after he was elected). This comes right after the 2014 elections when Republicans gained seats in the House, giving them the majority. With the Democrats still in control of the Senate, any bills trying to get passed will likely not be passed, and if, by some miracle Republicans manage to get something passed, they will be vetoed by our dear Mr. President. This, in conjunction with Obama’s approval ratings, may mean that our president is a lame duck, despite his determination to not to be.

If the president is a lame duck, this means our government might as well be labeled ineffective.
