I began managing Mount Pisgah UMC’s social media in late November of 2016. Between Advent and Lent, I increased organic average post reach by 57% and engagement by 117%. MPUMC also increased in net likes by 116 during this time, despite the reality that Sunday attendance had been declining for 3+ years.
When Hurricanes Harvey and Irma hit, Mount Pisgah UMC went into action. Their goal was to college 1,000 flood relief buckets and $100,000 for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief). I developed and executed a social media strategy to accomplish these goals, in addition to creating the graphics used for the campaign. The first social media post went up on August 29th and by September 18th, we had collected over 1,000 buckets and raised more than $100,000 to help hurricane and flood victims.
